2005 has indeed got off to a productive and exciting start.
To participate in and see the enthusiasm of the clients and the
Carmenites working with the integrated Carmen Crew Management
system is certainly one reason. Another major reason is
the acquisition on 31 March 2005 of Opcom, an outstanding
resource optimization software and services company.
The acquisition of Opcom by Carmen will combine two of
the fastest-growing and profitable companies in the resource
optimization software and services industry. The combined
domain and industry knowledge of Opcom and Carmen
creates a formidable team that will continue to work closely
with our clients to assist them in achieving greater efficiency,
operational savings and profitability.
Those of us who have started working together or recently
visited Carmen Systems Pty Ltd in Brisbane and met our new
colleagues have had similar feelings of being amongst like
minded individuals. We are currently focusing our efforts in
client projects to combine our knowledge, technology and application
components, including algorithms. We are convinced
that this will be a strong addition to our combined offering.
We now have Carmen offices located throughout Europe,
North America, Asia and Australia further establishing our
capability in assisting and being widely available for our
clients, worldwide. With a strong presence in the Asia/Pacific
region we can now provide even better support for current and
new clients in this region.
Today, in most working environments the crew management
process is sequential. It is done in too many steps using various
systems each requiring very specialized users. Our main driver
with implementing our integrated Carmen Crew Management
solution is to simplify and integrate the business processes
while at the same time not diluting the power of optimization.
This requires that operational data is unified and simplified.
Our aim is to assist our clients with removing the technical
obstacles in order to find the most optimal and market driven
process and operation.
It is great to see the positive results from Finnair who now,
with the implementation of Carmen Crew Tracking have the
integrated Carmen Crew Management system in place,
spanning from Manpower Planning to Tracking.
I would like to warmly welcome both our new airline client
Britannia Airways, who see many benefits from our simulation
capacity. We also welcome our new colleagues in Australia,
UK and France. Now we are an even stronger force to assist
our clients throughout the world
with applying advanced
optimization to industries.
