| The factors for sustainable profitability | October 2003 | ||||||||||||||
|
Carmen's core business and strength is developing and implementing resource
optimization software and services to help airlines and railways improve
their profitability. Balancing the three major value drivers: Payload, Fleet and Crew resources is the core of any transport company. To produce the most cost-efficient transportation, balancing the tradeoffs between stability, predictability and flexibility plays a major part in achieving profitability. This applies whether you are a low-cost, hub and spoke, point-to-point or full service airline or railway. The key success factors for Carmen in supporting clients and the airline and rail industries towards sustainable profitability are:
A big part of our commitment to help our clients obtain these goals is through our focus, ongoing R&D and continuous co-operative work with clients, universities and academic and commercial partners. During September, Carmen's Annual Users Conference was jointly hosted by SAS in Copenhagen, Denmark. Valuable discussions and feedback were generated through many of the new emerging ideas and technologies being developed and implemented in close co-operation between Carmen and our clients. Our focus continues with the air and rail industry. We see ourselves though, in the long-term vision, committed to being a key player in reducing resource waste in any area where optimization matters. Per Norén
