Balance Supply & Demand
Periods with a forecasted shortage of crew for a specific crew group will be highlighted. The forecast will be calculated using the best accessible data (crew pairings if that is available, otherwise the flight schedule or the fleet structure). Pre-assigned crew activities, such as meetings and already planned training, can be imported from the rostering system. Future requirements, such as vacation, days off, stand-by blocks, new training and more can be estimated or introduced explicitly. It is possible to manually adjust individual activities or to simulate a general behaviour by using different distribution formulas.

Movement Planning
By analyzing future flight schedules and fleet structures the need for crew transitions is calculated. Crew bids on equipment type and preferred transition periods can be entered in a specific Internet crew bidding system. The bid awarding process can be controlled with a wide set of built-in transition rules. Rules and parameters can be manipulated by the user in order to evaluate different scenarios. If the resource requirements for each crew group can wary slightly it is possible to let the system suggest various transition scenarios. This can make it possible to find a transition scheme with a similar resource availability, but with a lower transition cost.

Course Scheduling
In order to implement the movement planning, the training of each individual crew member must be scheduled. A big set of training templates defining the exact training content for various transition groups, or for crew with different level of experience, can be created. The training can be distributed over a long period in order to use a low number of training resources, or over a short period in order to meet a close deadline.

Analysis, Evaluation & Communication
To facilitate analysis a comprehensive range of reports and analysis views are available. When the mid-term and long-term supply and demand is balanced it is possible to send information on awarded transition bids, required training tasks, detailed amount of course days, simulators to the plan, etc to surrounding systems.
