A deep understanding of the Carmen Crew Rostering System gained through at least 6 months of experience using the system in addition to the course Basic Crew Rostering/PBS.

Audience
This course addresses experienced planners with no or little knowledge of the Carmen Crew Rostering/Preferential Bidding System. Beginners not familiar with crew rostering concepts should begin with the course Crew Rostering/PBS for Beginners.

    • Crew and ground duty tables
    • Pre-assignments and environment
    • Manual and automatic tools (APC)
    • The batch viewer
    • Rules and reports

  • Create rosters
    • Create local plan and sub-plan
    • Include crew and ground duties
    • Load environment plan and pre-assignments
    • Load rules and parameters
    • Build manually - set locks
    • Launch APC
    • Verify solution quality by reports
    • Long term fairness

  • Include PBS
    • The bid entry system
    • The bid table
    • Bid cost function
    • Measuring bid fulfilment
    • Limiting cost of bid fulfilment
    • Long term fairness

  • Basic simulation
    • Toggle rules
    • Change parameters
    • Modify constraints (e.g. qualifications, fairness)
    • Activate "Fly below rank"

All exercises are done using a generic flight data and rule set ("Carmen Airlines").
